This cactus candelabra is a collector's item crafted entirely by female artisans from San José de Gracia, Michoacán. In this community, the mastery of glazed pottery has been passed down through generations, and today, every purchase directly supports the economic empowerment of the master potters, who lead the preservation of this ancestral technique.
The piece stands out for its structure of cladodes (paddles) in a deep forest green tone, achieved through a high-temperature vitreous glazing process. The most delicate detail is the vibrant red pastillaje that crowns each branch, representing the fruits or flowers (tunas) of the cactus. This work requires exceptional precision, as each fruit is modeled and applied manually by the artisan before going into the kiln.
This functional art object is for sale in the display cases of Mansión Iturbe, in Pátzcuaro, reflecting our hotel's commitment to promoting female talent and fair trade in the region.
